A controversial congresswoman admitted to holding extremist political views in an online rant that went viral.

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) confirmed she feels deep pleasure and satisfaction when others call her a “radical.”

“If believing that health care, housing, and education are basic rights is radical then I am proud to be a radical,” she said in a Twitter post that was removed according to Fox News.

Omar’s outburst came after she was criticized for her left-leaning policies that favor greater regulation of Medicaid, veteran’s health care, universities, and property taxes.

Other previous announcements have also raised eyebrows. She controversially introduced a resolution in the House that appeared to encourage boycotting Israel, compared the country to Nazi Germany, and spread anti-Semitic analogies on social media.

These actions prompted advocacy group Stop Antisemitism to declare her winner of the 2019 Anti-Semite of the year award.

The competition exposes key people who appear to threaten American values, morals, and principles through spreading “hate and bigotry against the Jewish people” according to the Jewish News Syndicate (JNS).

“Anti-Semitism is plaguing our nation and it is about time we create real consequences for those spreading it,” said Stop Antisemitism Director Liora Rez told JNS. “By exposing bigots like Rep. Ilhan Omar, we are ensuring that the public is alert and able to take action.”

The news agency revealed thousands of Americans had participated through casting nominations and votes with an aim of expressing concern about what organizers call a disturbing rise of anti-Semitism across the United States.

“After receiving dozens of nominations, on Nov. 21, neo-Nazi … Richard Spencer, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and Rep. Ilhan Omar emerged as finalists,” JNS said. “After another round of public voting, Omar was declared the winner.”

Neo-Nazi leader David Duke allegedly described Omar as the “most important member of the U.S. Congress” according to the news agency. This illustrated an “increasingly public philosophical and ideological alliance” between the leftist BDS movement and other extremist groups that Stop Antisemitism and the Zachor Legal Institute recently exposed.

“The result highlights the growing concern among Americans about the congresswoman’s ability to use and abuse her position of power to propagate hatred in America,” JNS said. “Both the radical left and the radical right praise[d] Omar’s Jew-hatred.”

Ten people who cast their votes each won an Amazon gift card worth $180 for helping to expose anti-Semites through participating in the latest Anti-Semite of the Year award.
