Yangcheng Lake hairy crab specialties reduce production due to prolonged heat
The golden claw crab often called the Yangcheng Lake hairy crab, originated from Yangcheng Lake in Suzhou.
The hairy crab is renowned for its high nutritional value, so it is trendy in the market. As a result, the local crab farming industry has developed well in recent years.
However, the crabs face difficulties due to the high temperatures this year. As a result, it’s become challenging for the crab to reproduce and develop.
SingTao daily, citing Yao Shuisheng , Press Office of Suzhou Yangcheng Lake Hairy Crab Industry Association, said that the hairy crabs had reached a critical growth stage. However, the crabs have been affected by the rare continuous high-temperature weather, causing them to eat little and have difficulty molting. The conditions will reduce the crab population and thus production this year.
The largest beast unearthed so far in Sanxingdui
On August 24, a large-scale sacred animal was successfully unearthed from the sacrificial pit No. 8 of the Sanxingdui Ruins in Guanghan, Sichuan.
According to Sina, it is the largest of the many animal-shaped bronzes unearthed in Sanxingdui.
According to Zhao Hao, the person in charge of Pit 8 of the Sanxingdui Sacrificial Area, since the first excavation of Sanxingdui in 1986, the unearthed sacred beasts have all been small, about 8 to 12 inches long. However, the length and height of the “standing god beast” in pit 8 is about 39 inches. Therefore, at present, it is the largest one found so far.
Interestingly a person is standing on the great beast. This person is wearing a robe and has a thinner figure. According to archaeologists, this person may have been controlling the great beast.
There is also a sacred tree engraved on a relatively broad chest of the beast. Zhao Hao said that the Sanxingdui people possibly worshiped the sacred tree, or they regarded the sacred tree as a kind of god.
